 Carla VanWormer - Instructor

I began my career in school counseling with a Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development  in 1996. I was armed with the methodologies, the theories and the concepts of my education and so I set out on my mission to promote personal growth and opportunities for success for the youth in my community.  It didn’t take long for me to realize that the classic western philosophies I had studied for so long were working minimally, if at all.  It would be several years later that one mindful moment led me to the realization that if I wanted to affect positive change in my students, I must begin with myself. That was the moment that my life changed as I embraced eastern philosophy through yoga and mindfulness.  Four years of dedicated practice led me on a journey of complete transformation.
To date, I’ve completed my 200 hour yoga teacher certification, children’s yoga 95hr teacher certification and am registered with the National Yoga Alliance. I have earned a MBSR-T certification, (mindfulness based stress reduction for teens) and have attended a multitude of trainings and classes in yoga and mindfulness. Over the next few weeks I will be finishing my certification and registering with Yoga Alliance as a Prenatal and Postnatal yoga teacher. For me, this is just the beginning of a lifelong commitment to learning, practicing and sharing yoga with schools, families and friends in yoga. Yoga is beautiful and creates a magical calmness for those who develop a regular practice.  Please join me for a variety of yoga classes as you embrace your personal journey to your own magical calmness.

Amanda is now a Waterrower certified coach and provides classes that combine rowing with components of HIIT, barre, and circuit training. With tons of variations for all skills and fitness levels, Amanda strives to provide exciting and challenging workouts for everyone.
